Beirut~ not the weird city but the band.  The new-ish (oct. ‘07) album is ridiculously good.  The album prior to “the flying club cup” highlighted the horns and several songs that felt like marches.  ”the flying club cup” feels more personal, it sounds like a singer-song writer folk album with an eastern european backing band.  It still has some awesome trumpet lines and plenty of energy but the lead singers voice is a much bigger instrument in this latest album.  the next time you down at the record store/itunes seek out this album.
